Mind Your Mom!
Brandie Mathison-Klein here! Every May that I sit down to write the Homeward Bound Newsletter, I write about Mother’s Day. And why not? It marks such a special day for so many special people! I may not have been able to recognize this when I was young, but looking back now, I can recall so much valuable advice from my mom. She was, and still is, such an incredibly wise woman!
My mom taught me the value of working hard and giving it your all in everything you do. She has shown the act of selfless love in raising 5 kids and often going without so we could have what we needed growing up. She has always been my biggest cheerleader and support. I am so blessed to enjoy the relationship we have today and the gift of being able to call her several times a week to catch up.
I realize how lucky I am and also how difficult this day can be for those who don’t have their mom and the pain that can bring. I encourage everyone to celebrate and honor those memories. I hope you’ll join me, wherever you are, in giving a huge shoutout to all Moms – Happy Mother’s Day!
