Give Back Day in Houston: Serving Families with Heart at Grace United Methodist Church

As we step into this season of gratitude, our hearts at EmpowerHome Team Houston are full. Each year, we choose a meaningful Give Back Day activity in our community to serve with purpose, show love in action, and continue our mission of putting families first in everything we do. It is a tradition rooted in gratitude, compassion, and the belief that even the simplest act of sharing can make a lasting difference.

This year, our team gathered on November 17 to support the heartfelt work happening at Grace United Methodist Church. Their Thanksgiving food drive helps prepare boxes of hope for families who need a little extra support this season. We were grateful to spend the morning helping sort food, organize pantry items, and support their mission to ensure every family can sit down to a warm and comforting holiday meal.

Beyond the food drive, our team also had the opportunity to help organize books in the school library, bringing order, care, and renewed life to a space that supports learning and imagination every single day. It was a small act with big meaning, reminding us of the many ways a community can lift up its children and families through simple moments of service.

The day was filled with gratitude, teamwork, and a shared understanding that serving families is at the core of who we are. Mission First. People Always. These moments give us the opportunity to be part of something bigger than ourselves and reconnect with why we do what we do.
