Many years ago, my mom was diagnosed with leukemia. She became very sick, and for a while the hospital became our lives. It was a difficult time, but I’ll never forget one day that impacted me forever. A young girl with a bright smile in a red-and-white dress walked in with a huge bouquet of flowers. For the first time in a long time, I saw my mom’s face light up!
I learned the girl was with a volunteer service dedicated to bringing joy to patients. She was unforgettable and I wanted to be just like her, I joined as soon as I could!
We filled all kinds of roles around the hospital, but my favorite part was always the flower cart. I would roll room to room delivering dozens of bouquets and bring a moment of joy to patients who were often facing some of the hardest days of their lives. It taught me something powerful that has shaped me to this day: even the smallest acts of service can mean everything to those in need.
I carry those memory with me, the moment my mom smiled at a simple bouquet of flowers, and the countless families I met as a volunteer. This is why I feel so connected to the mission of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and why we support them. CHOA knows that every little act of service matters to those that need hope. They go above and beyond to care for children battling illness and supporting families walking through the unimaginable. Their service to patients and families is a reminder that in the hardest moments, joy can still be found when people show up with love and compassion.
It means the world to us when you introduce us to your friends, family, and neighbors. Your introductions not only support us, each one fuels our mission to our community. With each introduction, we donate a portion of our income to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation, and other worthy causes so they can continue doing their good work. If you know of someone who is thinking of selling or buying a home, Call or Text us at 404-301-3303!
