Mind Your Mom!
Each May, when I sit down to write the Homeward Bound Newsletter, I inevitably write about Mother’s Day, and why wouldn’t I? It’s a special day for so many people!
As time passes, it becomes more and more apparent how wise and caring adoptive mothers truly are, which is why we share in celebrating this special day to honor them every year. My mom was a quiet behind-the-scenes person who was always there for my brother and I from the first time she held us until she took her last breath. She was generous with her time and always looked for ways to make the lives of everyone around her better. She lived everyday with a very grateful heart and always saw the best in everyone and every circumstance! I am blessed to have had a wonderful relationship with her, I will always treasure my time and memories of her!
I hope you’ll join me, wherever you are, in giving a huge shoutout to all Moms – Happy Mother’s Day!
Like me, some of you reading this, however, may no longer have your moms around to celebrate with. It is because of this, for ALL whose moms or mother-figures are no longer with us, that I hope you take the time to remember the very best about them, especially at this time of year. There are also many who never knew their moms due to unfortunate circumstances, and I hope these people ultimately have someone in their life to fill that role and that they too have a wonderful day of celebration!
Regardless of how you and your family are spending Mother’s Day this year, we can all join together to celebrate knowing that all moms are special in more ways than we can count. This especially applies to those wishing to spend their first Mother’s Day with their child…
You may recall that my team and I are on a mission to raise $1,000,000 for local adopting families and other worthy causes this year! We work toward this goal by giving a portion of our income from every home sale to this worthy cause and many others. This worthy cause is especially near and dear to my heart.
Many families who cannot have children wish for a family of their own to celebrate Mother’s Day and other holidays with. We aim to do what we can to help kids get matched with a loving family and have a lifetime of joy during this time of year!
Thank you in advance for the referrals!
Have an awesome May,
Gaye Ribble
