Supporting Federal Families This Season

This Thanksgiving, we’re encouraging everyone to help federal families who may be facing a difficult holiday season due to the government shutdown. Small acts of generosity can make a meaningful difference, helping families enjoy a warm, complete holiday meal.

Programs like Feed the Feds provide grocery bags with Thanksgiving essentials and gift cards so families can celebrate with peace of mind. These simple gestures bring comfort, hope, and a sense of community to those who need it most. Families will receive 100 grocery bags filled with Thanksgiving essentials and a $25 grocery gift card so they can share a joyful meal around the table. Federal Workers can pickup from November 20-21, just present Federal ID, no questions asked!

How You Can Contribute

You can help by donating nonperishable items such as boxed mashed potatoes, canned vegetables, stuffing, rice, pasta, dessert mixes, and other pantry staples.

Monetary donations are also encouraged to help families add fresh items like turkey, ham, or their favorite holiday treats. To make this possible, make a tax deductible donation though this link, or visit EmpowerHomeGives.com.

Suggested Donation Items

  • $25 grocery gift card for perishable items like turkey or ham

  • Box stuffing mix

  • Box mashed potatoes

  • Can or jar gravy

  • Box cornbread or biscuit mix

  • Box mac and cheese

  • Can sweet potatoes or yams

  • Dessert mix such as brownies, cake, or pumpkin pie filling
