Give Back Day in Charlotte: Creating Hope in a Box for Families Facing Breast Cancer

As we step into this season of gratitude, our hearts at Reynolds EmpowerHome Team are full. Each year, we take part in a meaningful activity in our community to serve with purpose, show love in action, and support families in ways that truly matter.

This year, our Charlotte team gathered to create Hope in a Box care kits for families courageously facing breast cancer. These kits are filled with comfort items to ease treatment days, offer emotional support, and remind each recipient that their community sees them and stands beside them. We partnered with Go Jen Go, a local organization that walks with families during their most difficult seasons and provides critical assistance with both compassion and dignity.

Kristen and the team helped lead the effort with a simple but heartfelt system rooted in community connection. Brown paper bags were dropped at the front doors throughout her Beverly Crest neighborhood, giving neighbors two weeks to fill them with non-perishable food and care items. Anyone who wished to contribute reached out to her for porch pickup. Every single bag represented a family choosing to share love with another family in need.

After gathering all the donations, items were delivered to Second Harvest of Metrolina, where our team assembled the Hope in a Box care kits. Each kit carried a message of hope, comfort, and strength for someone navigating the challenges of treatment.

Our team showed up with energy and open hearts, ready to do what we could to lighten burdens during this tender season. Moments like this remind us why we do what we do.
