I’ve been thinking a lot about legacy lately. While I’m having too much fun to even think about retiring, watching my kids and grandkids grow has me reflecting on the legacy my parents left me, and the legacy I’m building now.

Mom and Dad gave me the gift of connection. They made it possible for our whole family to come together every year, and we’ve always felt the power and importance of those bonds. This year, as our three generations came together for a much-needed vacation, we continued our tradition and gave a salute to them for the legacy they built for us.

As an adopted child family has never just meant biology, family for me is a place where you’re loved and supported. My Parents opened their heart and home to me, and in one act changed my life forever. It gave me a sense of belonging, and a foundation for everything that followed. It’s one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received, and has shaped how I live every day.

That’s why I care so deeply about supporting adoption services like CCS and helping babies & children find a loving family of their own. This is part of the legacy I hope to leave behind: a world where every child knows what it means to be loved.
