Hi! I hope your year is going well! It’s crazy to think we’re now almost halfway through it already, how time flies! I was just talking with Sarah Reynolds, my good friend and CEO of EmpowerHome, she just got back from her daughter’s 6-month checkup at her local hospital. You see, her daughter Olivia lives with a hearing loss condition “Bilateral Enlarged Vestibular Aqueducts” and has regular checkups to see how she’s doing. This visit was different though, here’s what she sent me last week:

“Olivia (almost 11 wow!), now only visits twice a year to check in & follow up on any changes the docs see. She’s not scared of these appointments now but we’re both still pretty nervous each time we visit! Olivia, the brave soul she is, insisted on leading the visit. She was asking her own questions (so proud! :D), leading the discussion on her health & future. She has become so strong and I tell her ‘you have such strong ears because they do double duty by lifting your glasses and your hearing aids.’ What I saw from her I saw in all the kids there, the doctors and staff build so much confidence in them and that confidence carries them onto face whatever tomorrow brings.

We were waiting there surrounded by so many kids with their own unique battles and journeys, & you know it’s just the same down there at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. So many kids with very serious conditions, they are fighting so hard each day for their lives, it brought me to tears. It was so humbling & inspiring to see their resilience! Their smiles, despite the challenges they face show the incredible care they get. It’s full of love, care, and a genuine desire to make a difference.”

Gosh! I was floored by this! So why am I sharing this? Our team has been giving back to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for many years because of how much they help kids in the same boat as Olivia. Not every parent in our community has the opportunity to get the care their children need, I find myself continually thinking about the families in this situation, and have looked for every opportunity to help. This is why we’re so passionate about helping families through real estate, it allows us to support worthy causes like Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Helping families through the purchase or sale of a home and fighting for them everyday is an incredible responsibility that we don’t take lightly!

Thank You,
Linde Moore
