After being denied of the series last year Loudoun South approached this year with a new fire and determination. After winning 16 consecutive games to earn the Southeast Region Tournament title they face a familiar foe. To make it to The World Series the team would have to face a familiar foe. Peachtree City from Georgia is a team Loudoun South knows all too well. Last year, it was Peachtree who sent Loudoun home packing just shy of the series. Determined to not repeat last year, Loudoun South came out the gates HOT by scoring four runs in the second inning. They continued to pull away with six runs in the fifth inning. Ultimately, Loudoun won the game finishing at 12-2 over Peachtree.
Now the community is rallying around this resilient group. They’re the first team from Virginia to make it to the series in 25 years! The 16-team Little League World Series begins Aug. 15 and continues through Aug. 25. Loudoun South will face the New England Region champion. From Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and local news these boys have a lot of support. All of us here at The Reynolds Team are rooting for you! GO GET ‘EM BOYS!
